The Women’s Hockey Junior World Cup is an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). It is similar to the men’s and started in 1989. The competitors must be under the age of 21 as of December 31 In the year the tournament is held. The tournament is held once every four years.There are four teams who have topped the past tournaments. Korea and Netherlands are both successful as each has won the tournament twice. Argentina and Germany follows as each has won the tournament once.The recent Women’s Hockey Junior World Cup was held in 2009 with the host nation, United States. In which, Netherlands got their second win in the tournament, Argentina finishing in second, followed by Korea in third place.

The women’s Hockey Junior World Cup will be held in Mönchengladbach, Germany from July 27-August 4 with a 16-team field. The Junior World Cup is held once every four years and is for nearly every player in the event, the first major international competition of their career. The 16 teams will be split into four pool of four teams each. Following the preliminary round robin, teams will either move into a placement round for the bottom eight finishers or onto a quarterfinal, semi-final and final round. In total, every team is guaranteed six games.Pool A will feature the Netherlands, Korea, USA and Ghana. Pool B includes Argentina, China, South Africa and Canada. In Pool C, New Zealand, Australia, India and Russia will compete and rounding out the field is England, Germany, Belgium and Spain in a competitive Pool D.
